Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of East Sarajevo, prof. Božidar Popović and vice dean for teaching prof. Srđan Lale, together with the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Japan, Siniša Berjan, held a working meeting with representatives of Shinshu University in the city of Nagano, Japan. On behalf of Shinshu University, the meeting was attended by vice rector prof. Yoshihiko Amano, dean and dean’s deputy, as well as heads of the Faculty of Engineering departments. During the visit, the signing of an agreement on cooperation between the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from East Sarajevo and the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Shinshu was agreed and coordinated. The agreement defines various activities that include the exchange of students and academic staff and scientific and research cooperation. Professors from Shinshu University expressed their desire to be active participants of the Infoteh Jahorina Symposium.

The University of East Sarajevo and the prestigious Shinshu University from Japan, which is one of the 1000 best universities in the world, previously signed an agreement on cooperation for a period of five years in April last year through the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Japan. This extremely respectable Japanese higher education institution with five campuses, founded way back in 1949, has been declared Japan's best environmental university for several years consecutively.
