The Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of East Sarajevo hosted workshops for the promotion of electromobility, which is part of the project "PELMOB - Partnership for the promotion and popularization of electric mobility through the transformation and modernization of study programs of higher education institutions of the Western Balkans".

In this way, as well as through cooperation with 14 partners from the countries of the Western Balkans and the EU, this faculty wants to improve awareness of electric mobility in the Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

Božidar Popović, dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of East Sarajevo, stated that the workshop will discuss the future of electric mobility, goals and plans, and academic networking in the field of E-mobility.

- In addition to promotion, through this project we will include some car dealerships located in BiH, Republika Srpska, such as "Porsche", whose representatives are with us today. We set ourselves the goal of trying to create a map with all charging stations where electric cars can be charged in Srpska, and together with our partners in the region as well - he stated.

Full professor at the ETF in East Sarajevo, Slobodan Lubura, said that it is important to raise awareness about electromobility, as well as about the safe transport of hazardous materials.

Participant and moderator of the project, assistant professor Dr. Marko Ikić from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering pointed out that the workshop will also discuss the obligations of the University of East Sarajevo and this faculty in changing and modernizing the curricula of study programs related to electromobility.

Osman Lindov, full professor at the Faculty of Traffic and Communications of the University of Sarajevo, said that the PELMOB project aims to modernize study programs, educate electrical, traffic and mechanical engineers, as well as raise awareness of electric vehicles and E-mobility.

According to him, big cities cannot withstand the pressure of diesel vehicles, therefore it is important to promote electric vehicles, e-mobility in public transport, as well as e-scooters, e-bicycles, e-romobiles.

- Electromobility is the future - he said.

Jasmin Lučkin, head of the Education and Development Department at the company "Porše" in BiH, said that they support this project and that the company works a lot to promote electromobility and educate the population.

As he pointed out, citizens are increasingly interested in buying electric vehicles that are of high quality and reliable.

The PELMOB project aims to modernize study programs at higher education institutions in the countries of the Western Balkans, through the introduction of courses related to electric vehicles at the basic, master's and specialist study levels.

The PELMOB project will improve the quality of higher education in the field of electromobility and harmonize existing knowledge with new trends that are represented in the European Union. In addition, the promotion and popularization of electromobility will lead to greater social acceptance and adoption of electric vehicles in the transportation market.
